Getting Started

2005 Open House Your freshman year in college is a crucially important year, and it is absolutely necessary to understand that this year will not simply be an extension of high school. Please read the section titled How Do College Freshmen Perceive the Differences Between High School and College? and view the PowerPoint titled Advice for First-Year College Students from an Academic Travel Agent to discover (1) the very real academic differences you will experience when you become a college freshman and (2) the strategies that can enable you to adapt successfully to these differences.

How to Become a Savvy Psychology Major

Once you have adapted to the culture of higher education, it will be time for you to identify the types of careers you can enter; become aware of the knowledge, skills, and characteristics (KSCs) necessary to enter these careers; develop a plan to acquire these KSCs. Getting the Help You Need

The Psychology Department has created the Psychology Resource Center to provide academic assistance to students in introductory courses (B104 and B105), methods courses (B305 and B311), and capstone courses.
