Reference Section

The main point here is to make sure that every citation you have in the text has a full reference in the reference section, and vice versa. Very often, readers of scientific papers go to the reference section of papers to find articles they become interested in by reading about them within the text of a paper. It is very important that references be done right. It is frustrating to search for a reference and not find it because the author made a mistake writing the name of the authors, the date of publication, or the place of publication.

The APA manual and the various websites offered through the link in the home page for this site will show you how to present your references. Remember, how you present the references differs depending on whether it is a book chapter, article in a journal, etc. So find the exact match before you write it up.

Finally, possibly the best advice we can give you is to type in each reference as you use it. At the end, when you are struggling to finish and have many other finals to study for, is not the best time to type up a reference section, especially since you'll have to find all your articles that you may not have seen for weeks in order to do it.
