Note: The critical criteria for the evaluation is the number and quality of connections that you make between the lecture material (i.e., stress/sports research & theory) and the specific case you are trying to understand. The following is a good example for the stress management class:  "The move from college has resulted in a higher number of life events and a reduction in social support (friends are at home). Together these would suggest that this person will have some adjustment problems. However, this person's hardy personality (maintains the belief about being in control of life) may enable her to see these events as a challenge rather than as a threat."  (The three sentences above would have 3 or 4 connections: (1) life events, (2) social support, (3) hardy personality, (4) challenge – threat.)  For the sports psychology class, the following is a good example:  “The athlete was playing in an important game but she saw the game as the most important one in her life. Thus, her level of arousal for this game was much higher than her optimal level.  The inverted U-shaped, arousal curve predicts that her performance would be substantially below her best.  In addition, she indicated that during the game she worried about how her teammates were evaluating her.  This may have led to several errors during a critical part of the game.”  (The five sentences above would have 3 or 4 connections: (1) higher than optimal level , (2) inverted U-shaped, (3) performance below, (4) worried.)
